Our mission is: “To enable Attleboro area youngsters to be introduced to the wonderful sport of golf and to provide support as they progress within the sport.” As a youngster growing up in Attleboro Mike Michel was drawn to the sport of golf. He spent countless hours learning and playing the sport he loved. Mike’s hard work eventually earned him a scholarship to play golf at Rutgers University. Now a successful businessman, Mike has established the Mike Michel Golf Fund to help introduce Attleboro area youngsters to the sport of golf as a way to give back to the sport which has given so much to him. Since 2012, Mike has conducted his annual 24-Hours of Golf Fundraiser from which 100% of the proceeds go to this wonderful program to introduce children to golf. The fundraiser consists of Mike and a playing partner(s) playing golf for 24 consecutive hours. After playing the initial five years at Locust Valley Golf Course, Mike moved to the Links At Mass Golf in Norton in 2017. Mike solicits sponsorships from local residents, businesses and professional associations – all proceeds from which go directly to the Michel Golf Fund. To date donations have provided over 100 children memberships at local golf courses; kids their own set of golf clubs; weekly lessons, lunch and more. Each year many youngsters receive a free Junior Golf Membership at The Links At Mass Golf in Norton at no cost to their family. Many also receive their very first set of golf clubs and participate in golf clinics specifically designated for 24-Hours of Golf Recipients.
